This is a beautiful vintage / antique 1953 Trifari brooch / pin. They named this collection "Flirtation" (also referred to as "Halo" or "Basket") . It is made of beautiful marquise cut, square cut, baguette cut and chaton cut clear rhinestones all glue set in a combination of golden AND platinum toned Trifanium. It looks much nicer in person than it does in the pictures!

Book Info: This brooch is shown on page 228 in Marcia "Sparkles" Brown's book "Rhinestone Jewelry Figurals Animals and Whimsicals" and parts of this collection were also featured on page 253 of Julia C Carroll's book "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202 Second Edition".
Advertisement Info: It is part of one of the collections featured in Trifari's 1953 advertisement "She will know it's Christmas when you give her Jewels by Trifari".
Patent Info: The patent that was eventually granted for this brooch was patent # 170,208 granted to Alfred Philippe for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel Inc. on Aug 18, 1953.
Size: It is approximately 2 1/2 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide
Markings: Signed "TRIFARI Pat Pend" with a crown over the "T" (but the crown is hard to see on this one)
Closure: Fold over stick pin with roll over 'c' safety
Condition: This is an exceptional brooch with very little wear to the golden toned Trifanium - amazing condition for jewelry that is over 60 years old!
