This is a beautiful vintage / antique 1954 Trifari brooch / pin. This brooch belongs to a collection Trifari named "Trade Winds". This brooch is made up of simulated pearls and chaton rhinestone accents all glue set in a golden toned Trifanium.

Advertisement Information: It actually appeared in 2 different advertisements that I know of. The first was the 1954 Trifari advertisement "Her favorite Santa gives her Jewels by Trifari." The second advertisement features this collection exclusively.
Patent Information: I could not find the patent for this brooch but the patent for the necklace from the collection was patent # 173,375 granted to Alfred Philippe for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel Inc. on Nov 2, 1954. (Click here to see that patent)
Size: It is approximately 1 3/4 inches tall
Markings: Signed "TRIFARI Pat Pend" on the back with a crown over the "T"
Closure: Fold over pin with roll over 'c' safety
Condition: There is wear to the plating commensurate with its age. While all the faux pearls are present a couple have nicks in the coating. All the chaton rhinestones are present. All in all normal wear for a brooch that is over 60 years old.
