Book Reference Info: I read where this necklace was shown on page 208 in "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202" by Julia C Carroll and she said the necklace was named "Abstract" but I only have the second edition of that book so I can't verify the information.
Patent Info: The patent that was eventually granted for this choker necklace patent # 172,635 granted to Alfred Philippe for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel Inc. on July 13, 1954. (Click here to view patent)
Size: It is short at approximately 13 inches long plus a 2 1/2 inch extension chain
Markings: Signed "TRIFARI PAT PEND" with a crown over the "T" on the back of the center section (it is hard to see the crown because it wraps around the edge) and "TRIFARI PAT PEND" on the inside of the "J" hook
Closure: "J" hook
Condition: There is only very slight wear to the golden toned Trifanium (mostly just on the "J" hook) and all the rhinestones are present, look original and are super sparkly! This is a beautiful necklace - amazing condition for jewelry that is over 60 years old!
