Markings: Signed "TRIFARI" with a thin crown over the "T" and "C" on the top of the clips
Closure: Clip on - like the earrings only with 'teeth'. The chain is connected with spring rings on each end
Condition: The metal has only slight wear - really good condition for jewelry that is over 50 years old!
This is a pair of vintage / antique Trifari sweater clips. These were shown in the 1966 Trifari catalog. They are made of a textured golden toned Trifanium with shiny smooth edges.
In 1957 Trifari started making these and they called them "Tie-ups". They stated
"Separated.... it's a pair of clips! It's a bracelet! Its a shoulder-holder! - Holds your sweater so that it won't slip. Wonderful for capes, stoles, shrugs, scarfs. It's a chatelaine! - to give the jewel touch to a suit, a waistline, a neckline, a beret, a hairdo."
