This is a beautiful vintage / antique 1953 Trifari pair of clip on earrings. They named this collection "Flirtation" (also referred to as "Halo") and it was one of the collections featured in Trifari's 1953 advertisement "She will know it's Christmas when you give her Jewels by Trifari". I couldn't find the patent for these earrings but the patent that was eventually granted for the matching necklace was patent # 170,368 granted to Alfred Philippe for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel Inc. on Sept 8, 1953 and more earrings from the set were patented Aug 18, 1953 so the patent would have been in this same time period. Parts of this collection were also featured on page 253 of Julia C Carroll's book "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202 Second Edition". They are made of marquise cut, square, baguette cut and chaton cut clear rhinestones - all glue set in a golden AND platinum toned Trifanium. They would be great to add to your collection or to wear!

Size: They are approximately 5/8 of an inch tall and 1 inch wide (they are worn sideways as in first pic)
Markings: Signed "TRIFARI" with a crown over the "T" and "DESIGN PAT PEND" on the top of the clips
Closure: Clip on style earrings
Condition: The metal has wear commensurate with their age but all the rhinestones are present and look original - still nice condition for earrings that are over 60 years old!
