his is a beautiful vintage / antique 1953 Trifari choker necklace. They named this collection "Flirtation" (also referred to as "Halo") and it was one of the collections featured in Trifari's 1953 advertisement "She will know it's Christmas when you give her Jewels by Trifari". The patent that was eventually granted for this choker necklace patent # 170,368 granted to Alfred Philippe for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel Inc. on Sept 8, 1953. The patent that was eventually granted for the earrings was patent # 170,337 granted Sept 1, 1953. Parts of this collection were also featured on page 253 of Julia C Carroll's book "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202 Second Edition". It is made of beautiful purple marquise cut and square rhinestones along with baguette cut and round clear rhinestones - all glue set in a golden AND platinum toned Trifanium. I wasn't able to capture the amazing sparkle or vivid color with my camera! The earrings were originally clip on but they were converted to dangles for pierced ears which is bad if your just collecting them but great if you are going to wear them!

Size: It is really short at approximately 13 inches long with a 2 1/2 inch extension chain. The Trifari part of the earrings are 1 inch tall by 5/8 inch wide
Markings: Signed "TRIFARI Pat Pend" with a crown over the "T" on the back of the pendant section and "TRIFARI " with a crown over the "T" on the inside of the "J" hook on the necklace

Condition: The earrings were converted from clip on to fish hook for pierced ears. There is some wear to the plating and a hint of cloudiness underneath the clear baguettes but this necklace is still beautiful!
