Description:
This is a beautiful vintage / antique 1953 Trifari choker necklace. They named this collection "Flirtation" and it was one of the collections featured in Trifari's 1953 advertisement "She will know it's Christmas when you give her Jewels by Trifari". The patent that was eventually granted for this choker necklace patent # 170,368 granted to Alfred Philippe for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel Inc. on Sept 8, 1953. Parts of this collection were also featured on page 253 of Julia C Carroll's book "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202 Second Edition". It is made of marquise cut, square, baguette cut and chaton cut clear rhinestones - all glue set in a platinum toned Trifanium. It would be great to add to your collection or to wear!

Size: It is really short at approximately 13 inches long plus a 2 1/2 inch extension chain for a total of 15 1/2 inches.
Markings: Signed "TRIFARI Pat Pend" with a crown over the "T" on the back of the pendant section and "TRIFARI " with a crown over the "T" on the inside of the "J" hook

Condition: There is some wear to the platinum toned Trifanium commensurate with it's age and quite a bit of yellowing, cloudiness to the rhinestones. While you can see it it is much worse in the pictures than it is in person.
