Size: The brooch is approximately 2 1/4 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches tall. The earrings were made to wear with the flowers to the side and are 1 1 4 inch tall and 7/8 inch wide
Markings: The pieces are signed "TRIFARI" with a crown over the "T" and "C" for copyright on the backs
Closure: Fold over stick pin with roll over 'c' safety on the brooch and the earrings are clip on
Condition: Near mint condition! Amazing for jewelry that is over 60 years old!
This is a beautiful vintage / antique Trifari demi-parure which includes the brooch and matching earrings. They named this set Aster and it appeared in Trifari's 1957 (I believe it was a 1957 ad but I can't be sure - I am comfortable that it was some time around that time period) advertisement "A splendid splash, for wear with dash! That's the big fashion point for these exquisite pins" .
The set is made in the form of an Aster flower with alternating smooth and textured petals - all in a platinum toned Trifanium. They are each made in 2 parts and then held together with 2 small rivets to give them a more 3-d effect. It is rare today to come across a set like this - especially in this wonderful condition! It would be great to add to your collection or to wear!
