Description:
This is a beautiful vintage / antique 1949 Trifari brooch / pin. The patent that was granted for this brooch was patent # 155,186 granted to Alfred Philippe for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel Inc. on Sept 13, 1949. The bottom part dangles from the bow section. This sparkly little brooch actually has 3 prong set crystals - 2 faceted ovals and one faceted tear drop shape. It also has 24 small chatons which are glue set in the gold tone metal. The patent looks like it has enamel but this one does not. The only other one I have found on the internet with this patent number was one full of rhinestones. It would be great to add to your collection or to wear!
I am listing a lot of my Trifari pieces so you might browse my other listings!
Size: It is approximately 1 3/8 inches tall and almost 1 3/8 inches wide
Markings: Signed "TRIFARI PAT NO 155186" with a crown over the "T" and the number "15" on the back
Closure: Fold over pin with roll over 'c' safety
Condition: This sparkly little brooch is in great condition with with some wear to the gold tone metal but it still really shines! Like I mentioned before the one in the patent looks like it has enamel but this one does not so I don't know if it ever did or not. All the rhinestones are present and look original - all in all amazing condition for jewelry that is over 60 years old!
