Description:
This is a beautiful vintage / antique 1953 Trifari bracelet. They named this collection "Flirtation" and it was one of the collections featured in Trifari's 1953 advertisement "She will know it's Christmas when you give her Jewels by Trifari". The patent that was eventually granted for this bracelet was patent # 170,210 granted to Alfred Philippe for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel Inc. on Aug 18, 1953. Parts of this collection were also featured on page 253 of Julia C Carroll's book "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202 Second Edition". It is made of marquise cut, square, baguette cut and chaton cut clear rhinestones - all glue set in a golden AND platinum toned Trifanium. This bracelet still has a lot of sparkle left!
I am listing more from this particular advertisement (even the matching earrings, necklace and brooch of this collection) so you might want to browse my other listings!
Size: It is approximately 7 inches long and 5/8 inches wide
Markings: Signed "TRIFARI Pat Pend" on the back of the fold over clasp
Closure: Fold over clasp
Condition: This bracelet is missing two of the small square rhinestones (someone replaced them with chaton cut rhinestones and one is pretty dark- please see last photo)). Also, as I have found with most of this collection there is wear to the plating and cloudiness underneath the clear baguettes and slight yellowing to a few others. This is still a very pretty bracelet!!
