Description:
This is a beautiful vintage / antique 1954 Trifari choker necklace. They named this collection "Mermaid" and it was one of the sets featured in Trifari's 1954 advertisement "She will love you more for remembering her with Jewels by Trifari." The patent that was eventually granted for this choker necklace patent # 172,553 granted to Alfred Philippe for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel Inc. on July 6, 1954. It is made up of beautiful baguette and chaton cut rhinestones along with faux pearls all glue set in a golden toned Trifanium. It would be great to add to your collection or to wear!
I am listing the beautiful matching earrings and another more elaborate necklace from this collection separately!
Size: It is short at approximately 14 inches long plus a 2 1/2 inch extension chain
Markings: Signed "TRIFARI Pat Pend" on the back of the centerpiece and the inside of the "J" hook
Closure: "J" hook
Condition: This necklace is really nice with only slight wear to the golden toned Trifanium and under my 60x loop I do see that some of the pearls and rhinestones have been glued back in at some point - nothing really noticeable without a magnifier - still amazing condition for jewelry that is over 60 years old!
