Description:
This is a beautiful vintage / antique 1959 Trifari choker necklace. They named this necklace "Versailles" and featured the set in 2 advertisements that I know of. One was the 1959 "Versailles... Touch of splendor jewels for your most brilliant evenings." The other ad was "Versailles.. For your most brilliant evenings, rhinestones in a Trifari setting of unequaled elegance." The necklace is made up of clear baguette, marquise cut and pave round rhinestones - all glue set in a platinum toned Trifanium. The main part is made into 12 separate links - each with 26 rhinestones so that it adds up to over 300 rhinestones and amazing sparkle! It would be great to add to your collection or to wear!
Size: It is short at approximately 13 inches plus a 2 inch extension chain
Markings: Signed "TRIFARI" on the back of the "J" hook (they really didn't have room for the 'crown' over the 'T' on the 'J' hooks)
Closure: "J" hook clasp
Condition: Of the over 300 rhinestones 1 is missing, some are yellowed and a few are dark like they have been glued back in at some point. I'm not completely sure they are all original but this is still a beautiful necklace - amazing condition for jewelry that is over 50 years old!
