Markings: Signed "TRIFARI" with a crown over the "T" and "DESIGN PAT PEND" on the top of the clips
Closure: Clip on style earrings
Condition: All the rhinestones are present and super sparkly! Quite a bit of the blue enamel has worn off and there is slight wear to the golden toned Trifanium - still pretty good condition for jewelry that was worn and loved for over 60 years!
This is a vintage / antique 1954 Trifari pair of clip on earrings. The patent that was eventually granted was patent # 172,175 granted to Alfred Philippe for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel Inc. on May 11, 1954. This is part of Trifari's "Minuet" group that is so highly coveted by Trifari collectors! They are made up of beautiful sparkly light greenish yellow oval shaped rhinestones, clear round and clear baguette cut rhinestones - all glue set in a golden toned Trifanium. They also have the dark blue enamel accents along the 'ribbons' but unfortunately quite a bit of it has worn off. They would still be great to add to your collection or to wear!
