This is a beautiful vintage / antique 1953 Trifari pair of clip on earrings. They named this collection "Flirtation" (also referred to as "Halo"). They are made of marquise cut, square, baguette cut and chaton cut clear rhinestones - all glue set in a golden AND platinum toned Trifanium.

Advertisement Info: It was one of the collections featured in Trifari's 1953 advertisement "She will know it's Christmas when you give her Jewels by Trifari".
Patent Info: The patent that was eventually granted for these earrings was patent # 170,225 granted to Alfred Philippe for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel Inc. on Aug 18, 1953. (Click here to see the patent)
Size: They are approximately 7/8 of an inch tall and 3/4 inch wide
Markings: Signed "TRIFARI" with a crown over the "T" and "DESIGN PAT PEND" on the top of the clips
Closure: Clip on style earrings
Condition: The metal has wear commensurate with their age but all the rhinestones are present and look original (although some chaton have yellowed slightly)- all in all pretty nice condition considering the fact that they are over 60 years old!
